The Motorbike Rescue Service (MRS) was started from Lahore on 10th October, 2017 to improve
response to emergencies especially in congested old city areas and traffic jams. The Motorbike
Rescuers are trained and equipped to provide onsite emergency medical care. Initially, this
Motorbike Rescue Service was launched in 9 Divisional Headquarters of Punjab with 900 Motorbikes
including, 300 for Lahore, 100 each at Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Rawalpindi & Multan and 50 each at
Sargodha, DG Khan, Sahiwal & Bahawalpur. Based on success in Divisional Headquarters, the Government
expanded the Motorbike Rescue Service to remaining Districts of Punjab.
So far, MRS has responded to 2.6 million emergencies with an average response time of less than
4 minutes which is an achievement even internationally.
