MINISTER FOR EMERGENCY SERVICES APPLAUDS RESCUE 1122 SERVICES KHAWAJA SALMAN RAFIQ CONGRATULATES BHAKKAR TEAM FOR WINNING CERT CHALLENGE – 2024 Dec 05, 2024
LAHORE: The Minister for Emergency Services, Khawaja Salman Rafiq highly appreciated the winning team of International Volunteer day CERTs challenge-2024. He was the chief guest of the Award Distribution Ceremony of International Volunteer Day CERTs Challenge held at Emergency Services Academy here on Thursday. Bhakkar CERTs team got the first position in the International Volunteer Day CERTs Challenge, CERT team Gujrat secured second position while Alkhidmat Foundation Khyber Pakhtunkhwa remained third position. He praised the participation of teams across Pakistan and China, emphasizing their crucial role in strengthening community safety and emergency preparedness. He also acknowledged the efforts of Ms. Deeba, Head of Community Safety & Information, Exercise Controller Muhammad Ahsan and the evaluation team for organizing the event under the leadership of Dr. Rizwan Naseer.
Hosting of Asia-Pacific Earthquake Exercise is an honor for Pakistan, Khawaja Salman Rafique.
United Nation INSARAG Asia-Pacific Earthquake Response Exercise-2024 successfully concludes in Lahore, Pakistan

Lahore: The United Nations INSARAG Asia-Pacific Earthquake Response Exercise-2024 (APERE) successfully concludes in Lahore, Pakistan after successful commencement of International Rescue Challenge 2024. A total 274 international delegates from 23 countries and humanitarian partner organizations participated in Lahore Pakistan to share best international practices and strengthen coordination and cooperation amongst the rescue teams.


On behalf of the Government of the Punjab, Pakistan Provincial Minister for Emergency Services, Khawaja Salman Rafique, formally bid farewell to the distinguished delegates in Pakistan. He said that Pakistan Rescue Team is certified by the United Nations International Search and Rescue Advisory Group (INSARAG) and that’s why, Pakistan holds the chair for the Asia-Pacific region this year and due to this, exercise was hosted here in Pakistan.

PAKISTAN RESCUE TEAM STANDS CHAMPION IN INTERNATIONAL RESCUE CHALLENGE, PHILIPPINES FINISHES SECOND Oct 26, 2024

LAHORE: The Pakistan Rescue Team emerged as the champion in the International Rescue Challenge, while the Philippine Rescue Team secured the runner-up position. The Speaker of the Punjab Assembly, Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan, along with the Minister and Secretary for Emergency Services, Khawaja Salman Rafique & Dr. Rizwan Naseer and the United States Consul General, congratulated the champion team of the International Rescue Challenge 2024, as well as the Philippine team for securing the runner-up position. They also praised other teams for excelling in various individual challenges.


Speaker of the Punjab Assembly, Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan, congratulated the champion team, recognizing their success as a symbol of dedication to humanity. He also commended the participation of teams from Malaysia, China, Korea, Philippines, Thailand, United Kingdom, Nepal, and Pakistan.

LAHORE: The Secretary Emergency Services, Dr. Rizwan Naseer congratulated to the champion team from Gujranwala for winning the National Rescue Challenge-2024, as well as the teams that excelled in various individual challenges. He emphasized that the Rescue Challenge aims to enhance the capabilities of emergency services and foster better coordination to response to emergencies and disasters. Dr. Rizwan Naseer highlighted the importance of effective coordination and cooperation among emergency services in affected areas, stating that such efforts can save the maximum number of lives during emergencies.


RESCUE 1122 COMMEMORATES RESCUE SHUHADA DAY Dec 20, 2023
Dr Rizwan Naseer, Secretary Emergency Services Department paid rich tribute to Shaheed Rescuers on Rescue Shuhada Day, who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty while performing gallantry work to protect precious human lives and properties of the citizens. He said 20th December is commemorated as Rescue Shuhada day as it was the most tragic Fire Incident in the history of Pakistan, in which 13 firefighters lost their lives in the line of duty during rescue and firefighting operation in Ghakkar Plaza, Rawalpindi on 20 December 2008. These firefighters included four from Rescue 1122 Rawalpindi, six from Pakistan Ordinance Factory Wah, two from Civil Aviation Authority Islamabad and one from City District Fire Brigade Rawalpindi. DR. RIZWAN NASEER TO REPRESENTS PAKISTAN IN ADPC MEETING IN COLOMBO, SRI LANKA Dec 15, 2023
Dr Rizwan Naseer Secretary Emergency Services Department (ESD) invited to participate in the Asian Disaster Preparedness Center (ADPC) Policy Dialogue and Sustainable National Anticipatory Action through Preparedness (SNAP) Program launch in South Asia from 13-14th December, 2023 in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
The spokesperson said that Asian Disaster Preparedness Center (ADPC) requested Dr Rizwan Naseer to present the Rescue 1122 Model as it has become an Integrated Emergency Services Model in South Asia. The representatives from South Asian countries showed special interest the United National INSARAG Certification of Pakistan Rescue 1122 Team as result of which Rescue 1122 also responded to Türkiye Earthquake. Furthermore, ADPC also asked Dr Naseer to share the process as a result of which he had institutionalized the PEER trainings on Medical First Responders, Collapsed Structure Search & Rescue and Community Action for Disaster Response by establishing a purpose-built Emergency Services

Lahore: The President of Islamic Republic of Turkiye Recep Tayyip Erdogan presented Medal and Certificate to Commander Pakistan Rescue Team Dr Rizwan Naseer in recognition of the services rendered by the first United Nations INSARAG Certified Pakistan Rescue 1122 Team in Turkiye Earthquake 2023 and saving several lives and extrication of many dead from Collapsed Structures in Adiyaman and Hatay Turkiye Dr Rizwan Naseer, Commander Pakistan Rescue Team was also invited to the United Nations International Search and Rescue Advisory Group (INSARAG) Steering Group Meeting in Geneva by the Global Chair to discuss the Turkiye Earthquake response at the Humanitarian Networks and Partnerships Week in Geneva, Switzerland from 24 to 28th April, 2023...
